A group of regime supporters repelled an attempt by opposition leader Juan Guaido and his entourage from entering the Eucaliptos neighbourhood of Caracas. Guaido was scheduled to make an appearance there to meet opposition supporters in the area.

Footage from the scene showed the regime supporters, some of whom were armed, throwing rocks and firing their weapons into the air to stop Guaido and his entourage from entering the neighbourhood.

The video below shows regime supporters throwing rocks at Guaido’s caravan near one of the entrances to Eucaliptos:

 

The video below shows journalists and opposition supporters fleeing around a corner after gunfire erupts at the scene, which (based on their reaction) they believed to have originated from the regime supporters:

The defiant opposition crowd refused to cede the ground before the regime supporters. The clip below shows opposition supporters congregating int the area and chanting Guaido’s name:

In a tweet shared later in the afternoon, Guaido congratulated the residents of the nearby Guartaro neighbourhood for “defeating fear” and taking to the streets in support of their cause despite the violence from the regime supporters:
