This is a list of people killed during anti-government protests in Venezuela from 2014 to 2017. The list is complete to the best of my knowledge.

Note: Many of the protest fatalities were killed by a colectivo armado. That is the Venezuelan term for a pro-regime civilian armed group.

Jairo Ortiz: Killed by gunfire by a National Bolivarian Police officer on April 6 in Carrizal, Miranda.

Daniel Queliz: Killed by gunfire by a National Bolivarian Police officer on April 10 in Valencia, Carabobo.

Miguel Angel Colmenares: Killed by gunfire by a colectivo armado on April 11 in Barquisimeto, Lara.

Brayan Principal: Killed during unrest in Barquisimeto, Lara state on April 12.

Gruseny Antonio Canelon: Died on April 13 of gunshot injuries sustained in a shooting by a colectivo armado on April 11 in Barquisimeto, Lara.

Carlos Jose Moreno: Killed by a colectivo armado on April 19 in Caracas while walking alongside an opposition demonstration. Moreno’s family say that he was not himself protesting.

Paola Andreina Ramirez Gomez: Killed by a colectivo armado on April 19 in San Cristobal, Tachira while protesting.

Niumar Jose Sanclemente: National Guard soldier killed while policing protests in San Antonio de los Altos in Miranda state on April 19.

Mervins Guitian: Killed by a colectivo armado on the night of April 20 in the Barrio 5 de Julio in Petare, Caracas.

Jairo Ramirez*: Killed on the night of April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Elio Manuel Pacheco Perez*: Died in El Valle, Caracas on April 19.

William Marrero*: Killed on the night of April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Robert Centeno*: Killed on the night of April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Jonathan Meneses*: Killed on the night of April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Yoigerber Barrera*: Killed on the night of April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Estiverson Zamora*: Killed on the night of April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Francisco Gonzalez*: Killed on the night of April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Ramon Martinez: Shot dead while defending his business from looters on the night of  April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Kevin Leon: Shot dead on the night of April 20 in El Valle, Caracas.

Albert Rodriguez Aponte: A 16-year-old youth is reported to have died during the unrest in El Valle, Caracas on the night of April 20. His name has not been released as of April 21.

Manuel Perez: Died in El Valle on the night of April 20. His death was not reported until April 25.

Natalie Martinez+: Died in El Valle, Caracas on April 19.

Jose Ramon Gutierrez+: Died in El Valle, Caracas on April 19.

Angel Lugo Salas+: Died in El Valle, Caracas on April 19.

Estefany Tapias+: Died in El Valle, Caracas on April 19.

Kenyer Arangueren+: Died in El Valle, Caracas on April 19.

Amelina Carillo: Died on April 23 of injuries sustained during a pro-regime rally on April 18 in Caracas. Amelina was hit in the head by a bottle.

Jesus Sulbaran: Died on April 24 in Ejido, Merida state from gunshot injuries.

Renzo Rodriguez Roda: Died on April 24 in Barinitas, Barinas after being shot by a colectivo armado.

Johan Medina Aguilar: Died on April 25 in El Tocuyo, Lara from gunshot injuries.

Luis Enrique Marquez: Died on April 25 in Merida from gunshot injuries sustained on April 24.

Efrain Sierra Quintero: Shot in the stomach and killed somewhere in Tachira state on April 25 while attempting to dismantle a barricade.

Juan Pablo Pernalete Llovera: Killed at a protest on April 26 in Altamira, Caracas after getting shot in the chest with a tear gas canister fired by the National Guard.

Christian Humberto Ochoa Soriano: Killed in the overnight hours of April 26 in Valencia, Carabobo state after being shot with rubber pellets fired by the National Guard.

Eyker Daniel Rojas Gil: Shot during a protest in Barquisimeto, Lara state April 27.

Yonathan Quintero: Killed during a protest in Valencia, Carabobo state on May 2.

Angel Enrique Moreira: Killed in a traffic collision in Caracas trying to evade a barricade on May 2.

Ana Victoria Colmenares: Killed when the bus they were riding flipped trying to evade a barricade near Valencia, Carabobo state on May 2.

Unknown: Killed when the bus they were riding flipped trying to evade a barricade near Valencia, Carabobo state on May 2.

Carlos Eduardo Arangueren: Killed by gunfire after being caught in the crossfire between National Guard and protesters in Petare, Caracas on May 2.

Armando Cañizales: Killed after being struck in the neck (likely by a bullet) during a protest in Las Mercedes, Caracas on May 3.

Gerardo Barrera: Carabobo State Police officer killed in the overnight hours of May 4 during a protest in San Joaquin, Carabobo.

Unnamed 2-month-old Infant: Died from respiratory complications due to tear gas in Valencia, Carabobo state on May 4.

Miguel Medina: Shot by either Zulia state police or a colectivo armado at a protest on April 26. Died of his injuries on May 5.

Hecder Lugo: Shot by the National Guard in the Tulipan sector of San Diego, Carabobo on May 5.

Miguel Castillo Bracho: Killed by a “projectile” (likely a tear gas canister) at a protest in Las Mercedes, Caracas on May 10.

Anderson Enrique Dugarte: Shot in the head by a coletivo armado during a protest in Merida state on May 8. Died in hospital from his injuries on May 10.

Luis Alviarez: Shot in the chest while protesting in Palmira, Tachira state on May 15.

Diego Armando Hernandez Baron: Shot in the chest while protesting in Capacho Nuevo, Tachira state on May 15.

Yeison Mora: Killed by National Guard soldiers while protesting in Pedraza, Barinas state. Yeison was shot on May 15 but died on May 16.

Diego Arellano: Shot by authorities during a protest in San Antonio de Los Altos on May 16.

Jose Francisco Guerrero: Shot by National Guard soldiers in Sabaneta, Tachira state on May 16. Guerrero died from his injuries the next day. Guerrero had gone out to buy food for dinner when he was shot. It is likely that he came across a skirmish between protesters and National Guard soldiers, and that he was caught in the crossfire.

Paul Moreno: Run over by a vehicle during a protest in Maracaibo, Zulia on May 24.

Yorman Bervecia: Shot while protesting in Barinas state on May 22.

Jhon Alberto Quintero: Killed during unrest in Guanape, Barinas state on May 22 (Note: It is possible that Jhon was killed during an attempted robbery not related to the protests).

Alfredo Carrizales: Killed while protesting in Barinas, Barinas state on May 22.

Adonis Perez: Killed while protesting in Alto Barinas, Barinas state on May 22.

Miguel Bravo: Shot by Barinas State Police while protesting in Socopo, Barinas on May 22.

Anderson Abreu Pacheco: Killed while protesting in El Milagro, Trujillo on May 24.

Augusto Puga: Shot in the head during a protest in Ciudad Bolivar, Bolivar on May 24.

Adrian Duqe: Shot while protesting in Maracaibo, Zulia state on May 24.

Yolimar Yonathan Contreras: Killed (allegedly by a National Guard soldier) while protesting in Socopo, Barinas state on May 25.

Manuel Sosa: Killed while protesting in Cadubare, Lara state on May 25.

(Lt.) Danny Jose Subero: Lynched my a crowd of protesters at a memorial for Manuel Sosa in Cadubare, Lara state on May 27.

Maria Estefania Rodriguez: Shot in the chest while walking near a protest in Barquisimeto, Lara state on June 1.

Luis Gutierrez: Shot in the neck during a protest on May 17 in Tovar, Merida. Died on June 1.

Neomar Alejandro Lander Armas: Killed after being struck by a tear gas canister in the chest in Chacao, Caracas on June 6.

Socrates Salgado: Died of respiratory failure caused by exposure to tear gas in Vargas state on June 12.

Douglas Acevedo Sanchez: A supervisor with the Merida State Police, Acevedo was shot while policing a protest in Merida state on June 13.

Luis Enrique Vera Sulbaran: Run over by a vehicle attempting to evade a barricade in Maracaibo, Zulia state on June 14.

Luis Machado: Killed in a vehicle crash attempting to evade a barricade in Caracas on June 14.

Jose Lorenzo: Killed in the same event as above.

Jose Gregorio Perez Perez: Shot in the head while protesting in Junin, Tachira state on June 15.

Nelson Daniel Arevalo Avendao: Killed while protesting in Barquisimeto, Lara state on June 16.

Fabian Urbina: Shot in the throat while protesting in Caracas on June 19.

David Jose Vallenilla: Shot in the throat and chest by a National Guard soldier while protesting near the La Carlota airfield in Caracas on June 22.

Rony Alberto Parra Araujo: National Guard soldier. Shot while repelling looters in Maracay, Aragua state on June 27.

Isael Macadan Aquino: Shot during a looting event in Barcelona, Anzoategui state on June 28. It is not clear if Isael was himself looting.

Luis Alberto Montiel Herrera: Shot during a looting event in Maracaibo, Zulia state on June 28. It is not clear if Luis was himself looting.

Jhonatan Jose Zavatti Serrano: Shot while walking near a protest in Petare, Caracas on June 28.

Roberto Duran: Shot in the chest with a tear gas canister in Barquisimeto, Lara state on June 28.

Victor Betancourt: Died while protesting in Cumana, Sucre state on June 28.

Luis Paz: Run over by a car trying to evade a barricade in Maracaibo, Zulia state on June 28.

Alfredo Figuera: Shot in the head while protesting in Maracay, Aragua state on June 28.

Ruben Morillo: Shot in the chest while protesting in Barquisimeto, Lara state on June 30.

Fernando Rojas: Shot by a colectivo while protesting in Barquisimeto, Lara state on June 30.

Eduardo Marquez: Shot while protesting in Pie de Llano, Merida state on June 13. Eduardo died in hospital from his injuries on June 30.

Jose Gregorio Mendoza Duran: Shot during fighting in Barquisimeto, Lara state on June 30. Jose might have been a colectivo member.

Ramses Enrique Martinez: Shot during fighting in Barquisimeto, Lara state on June 30. Ramses died in hospital from his injuries on July 1. Ramses might have been a colectivo member.

Engelberth Moncada: Killed by a National Guard soldier while protesting in Tariba, Tachira state on July 4.

Ruben Dario Gonzalez Jimenez: Shot while protesting in Valencia, Carabobo state on July 10.

Oswaldo Rafel Britt: Run over by a vehicle registered to a state-owned company near a protest barricade in Ciudad Bolivar, Bolivar state on July 11.

Janet Angulo Parra: Shot by National Guard soldiers in El Tocuyo, Lara state during the overnight hours of July 12. Angulo was talking to protesters, but was not herself participating in the protest when she was shot.

Xiomara Escot: Killed by a colectivo armado while voting in the July 16 opposition plebiscite in Catia, Caracas on July 16.

Ronney Tejera: Killed by authorities during a protest in Los Teques, Miranda state on July 20.

Euri Hurtado: Shot during a protest in Los Teques, Miranda state on July 20.

Andres Uzcategui: Killed by National Guard soldiers during a protest in La Isabelica, Carabobo on July 20.

Victor Marquez: Died in a fire at a government building that was set ablaze by protesters in Maracaibo, Zulia state on July 20.

Juan Moleiro: Died from a a heart attack after being exposed to tear gas inside his home in La Mora, Aragua state on July 20.

Carlos Alberto Carrizo: Shot earlier during a protest in Ejido, Merida state. Died in hospital on July 24.

Rafael Antonio Vergara: Killed by National Guard soldiers while protesting in the Los Molinos neighbourhood of Ejido, Merida state on July 26.

Enderson Caldera: Killed during a protest, likely by National Guard soldiers, in Timotes, Merida state on July 26.

Jean Carlos Aponte: Shot while walking near a protest in Petare, Caracas on July 26.

Leonardo Gonzalez Barreto: Shot after the bus in which he was riding came under fire during a protest in Naguanagua, Carabobo state on July 27.

Jose Miguel Pentano: Shot by National Guard soldiers while protesting in Cabudare, Lara state on July 27.

Anthony Alejandro Castillo: Beaten by National Guard soldiers on July 20 at a protest. Died in hospital of his injuries in Barquisimeto, Lara state on July 27.

Oneibis Jhoan Quiñones: Shot during a protest on July 26. Died in hospital in Ejido, Merida state on July 27.

Rafael Canache: Shot by National Guard soldiers during a protest in Piritu, Anzoategui state on July 27.

Gilimber Teran: Shot in the head at a protest on July 26. Died in hospital in El Paraiso, Caracas on July 27.

Eduardo Gil Rodriguez: National Guard Lieutenant Colonel (retired). Shot by National Guard soldiers while protesting in Cardenas, Tachira state on July 28.

Juan Caraballo: Died from complications due to tear gas exposure somewhere in Guayana state (likely San Felix) on July 28.

Gustavo Villamizar: Shot in the head during a protest in San Cristobal, Tachira state on July 28.

Eduardo Olave: Killed while protesting in San Jacinto, Merida state on July 30.

Angelo Yordano Mendez: Killed while protesting in San Jacinto, Merida state on July 30.

Marcel Pereira: Killed while protesting in Chiguara, Merida state on July 30.

Iraldo Jose Gutierrez: Killed while protesting in Chiguara, Merida state on July 30.

Unnnamed 19 year old: Killed while protesting in Tovar, Merida state on July 30.

Luis Ortiz: Killed while protesting in Tucape, Merida state on July 30.

Alberto Rosales: Killed while protesting in Tucape, Merida state on July 30.

Ender Peña: Died in hospital from gunshot injuries sustained earlier at a protest in La Rotaria, Tachira state on July 30.

Ricardo Campos: Killed while protesting in Cumana, Sucre state on July 30. Local Accion Democratica leader. 

Luis Zambrano: Killed while protesting in Barquisimeto, Lara state on July 30.

Juan Gomez: Killed while protesting in Urdaneta, Lara state on July 30.

Miguel Urdaneta: Killed by regime militias in Zulia state on July 30.

Daniela de Jesus Salomon Machado: Shot by regime militias on July 30 and died in San Cristobal, Tachira state on July 31.

Johnny Lobatera: Beaten while protesting in Tachira state on July 30. Died in hospital on August 3.

Ramon Rivas: Killed at a protest in Valencia, Carabobo state on August 6.

Paramacay Attacker #1: Killed while attacking the Fuerte Paramacay base on August 6.

Paramacay Attacker #2:  Killed while attacking the Fuerte Paramacay base on August 6.

Willmerys Zerpa: Shot by regime militias at a protest on August 6. Died in Ciudad Bolivar, Bolivar state on August 7.

Eduardo Orozco: Shot in the head by CONAS security forces while participating in an anti-government protest in Barquisimeto, Lara state on August 7.

Luis Guillermo Espinoza: Shot during a protest on June 5. Died in hospital in San Diego, Carabobo state on August 14.

Angelo Quintero: Died from a gunshot to the head in hospital on February 13, 2018. Quintero was shot during an anti-government protest in Ejido, Tachira state on June 28.

Notes:

*: At least eight people died while looting the La Mayer bakery in El Valle on the night of April 20. They were electrocuted while attempting to remove an industrial refrigerator from the business. I believe that these are the eight individuals who died in that single event.

+: RunRun.Es. published an article shortly after the events of April 19 in El Valle claiming that seven more people died during the unrest in the neighbourhood that night than authorities concede.

Kluivert Roa: Killed during a protest in San Cristobal, Tachira on February 24, 2015.


2014 Fatalities: 38

Bassil Dacosta: Killed by bullet to the head on February 12.

Juan Montoya: Killed by bullet to the head on February 12. It is unclear if he was killed as a direct result of the protests, or during some other dispute. UPDATE: Five SEBIN agents have been charged with Juan Montoya’s death, along with that of Bassil Dacosta.

Roberto Redman: Killed by gunfire on February 12.

Jose Ernesto Mendez: Run over by car (allegedly driven by a PDVSA employee) at a barricade on February 17.

Genesis Carmona: Killed by bullet to the head on February 19. Student protester. Apparently killed by fire from the protesters.

Arturo Martinez: Killed by gunfire on February 21. He was shot while trying to clear a barricade.

Santiago Pedroza: Killed by metal wire sprung across a street on February 21.

Julio Gonzalez: Killed in a car crash on February 21. This was an accident (he lost control of his car trying to evade a barricade).

Delia Lobo: Killed by metal wire sprung across a street on February 21.

Asdrubal Rodriguez: Killed by bullet to the head. He had been arrested by the National Guard on February 19, and his body was found on a road on February 21.

Geraldine Moreno: Killed by gunfire to the head on February 22.

Elvis Rafael Duran: Killed by metal wire sprung across a street on February 22.

Jose Alejandro Martinez: Beaten to death by pro-government forces. Died in hospital on February 23.

Jimmy Vargas: Killed after falling from a height during a confrontation with the National Guard on February 24.

Yhony Caraballo: Killed by bullet to the head on February 24.

Eduardo Anzola: Killed when his motorcycle struck a barricade in Valencia on February 25.

Giovanni Pantajo: National Guard solider, killed by bullet to the head in El Trigal, Valencia on February 28.

Deivy Jose Duran Useche: Motorcyclist, killed when his bike drove into an uncovered manhole obstacle part of a barricade in Altamira, Caracas on March 3.

Acner Issac Lopez Leon: National Guard solider, killed by bullet (possibly to the head) in Los Ruices, Caracas on March 6.

Jose Gregorio Amaris Castillo: Pro-government supporter killed during a confrontation in Los Ruices, Carcas on March 6.

Johan Alonso Pineda: Killed in a barricade-related collision in Caracas on March 7.

Giselle Rubilar: Killed by a bullet to the head while clearing a barricade in Merida on March 9.

Daniel Tinoco: Killed by a bullet to the chest during a confrontation with a colectivo armado in San Cristobal on March 11.

Jesus Enrique Acosta: Killed by a bullet to the head in La Isabelica, Valencia on March 12.

Guillermo Sanchez: Killed by gunfire in Valencia on March 12.

Ernesto Bravo Bracho: National Guard captain killed by gunfire in Valencia on March 12.

Jose Guillen Araque: National Guard Captain killed by a bullet to the head in Maracay while dispersing a demonstration on March 16.

Francisco Rosendo: Killed by a bullet to the head in Caracas while clearing a barricade on March 17.

Jhon Rafael Castillo Castillo: National Guard soldier killed by gunfire in San Cristobal on March 19.

Francisco Rosendo Marin: Killed by gunfire while trying to clear a barricade in Caracas on March 19.

Jesus Orlando Labrador: Killed by gunfire during a demonstration in Merida on March 22.

Argenis Hernandez: Killed by gunfire to the abdomen while taking part in a demonstration in Valencia on March 22.

Adriana Urquiola: Killed by a bullet to the head while walking near a barricade in Los Nuevos Teques on March 23.

Miguel Antonio Parra: National Guard officer killed by gunfire to the neck while clearing a barricade in Merida on March 24.

Luis Alberto Romero Moncada: Killed by electrocution while attempting to construct  a barricade in San Cristobal on March 28.

Roberto Annese: Killed by gunfire, possibly while taking part in a demonstration, in Maracaibo on March 29.

Mariana Ceballos: Run over by a vehicle during a protest in Valencia in early March; died in hospital as a result of her injuries on April 10.

Jose Cirilo Darma Garcia: National Police officer killed by gunfire in Barquisimeto while attempting to disperse a demonstration on April 10.
