The vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, has been in China this week on an official mission to secure military cooperation agreements with the Asian country, according to statements that he made to the media today. According to Cabello, part of his visit to China had to do with reaching an agreement for Beijing to provide maintenance for Chinese equipment already in the possession of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces.
Cabello said:
Those who attack us and who think that it would be very easy to invade Venezuela and destroy our people are in for a surprise because one of the goals of our visit to China is to find agreements that will help us improve our weaponry.
Cabello arrived in China on October 12. He made the trip aboard an airplane that, while painted to look like a commercial airliner from Conviasa, is in fact a luxury jet used by regime officials to travel around the world:
