After months of relative calm on the streets of Venezuela, Juan Guaido called today on the residents of the country to take part in a massive protest against the Maduro regime this coming July 23.
Guaido made the call in a message on his Twitter account:
The protest will be a test of both of Guaido’s leadership and of the average Venezuelan’s resolve.
After bursting onto the country’s political scene this past January, Guaido drew massive crowds to events in rejection of the regime. However, as the political crisis appears to have settled into a familiar stalement, much of that initial excitement over Guaido’s leadership appears to have fizzled.
