Yet another massive blackout plunged most of the country into darkness today starting at approximately 11:20 PM local time. According to preliminary reports, the blackout affected at least 20 of the country’s 24 states as well as the Capital District of Caracas.

OAS Accepts Guaido’s Nominee as Representative from Venezuela

The Organization of American States (OAS) held a meeting today in which it voted to accept Gustavo Tarre as the permanent representative from Venezuela before the organization. Tarre was assigned to the post by interim president Juan Guaido, making his recognition by the OAS a victory for opposition forces at the organization.

The OAS agreed to recognize Tarre as the Venezuelan representative “until there are new elections [and until] a new democratically elected government is named”.

Opposition set to March Tomorrow

Venezuelans will take part in nationwide protests tomorrow as part of an ongoing campaign that seeks to have Maduro step down from power.

Protesters will gather in at least 358 rally points across the country, many of them which are located in Caracas.

The protest is scheduled to take place from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
