On May 5, a student by the name of Angelly Pernia was arrested during a demonstration at the Universidad Catolica del Tachira, where she is a first year law student. Apparently, Angelly was beaten during the detention process, and she was subsequently taken to the Hospital Central in San Cristobal, Tachira, where she was handcuffed by Tachira State police officers to her stretcher:

Last Wednesday, Angelly appeared before a judge, and was charged with four crimes: conspiracy, public instigation, obstructing a public roadway, and procession of explosives.

The video below appears to have been taken last night, allegedly in the vicinity of the hospital in which Angelly stayed. The video shows a crowd yelling at what looks like several Tachira State police officers on motorcycles. The crowd is upset, and tries to get the police officers to leave the area:

This video shows footage from a march that took place in Caracas yesterday. The purpose of the march was to demand the release of the students detained last week when security forces dismantled several “protest camps” that had sprung up across Caracas:

And here is a video of a confrontation near the Base Area de Aragua (Aragua Air Base) from earlier today:

Finally, some pictures. Demonstrators in Bello Monte, Caracas, from around 11:30 AM this morning:

Demonstrators with a banner in Ciudad Guayana:

An undated picture. A woman in high heels grabs onto a man’s arm for support as she bends down to pick up a tear gas canister:
